Dark Table

Throw on your fringe and get your retro on - the sixties are back on a summer night in Vancouver's Kitsilano neighborhood for dinner at Dark Table on west fourth.
When working with statement pieces in either colour or style, there are two ways to go.
Dress down your other pieces by opting for coordinating neutrals (Coco did nude and black) to showcase your statement piece.
If you're feeling adventurous - dress up your statement piece with another bright or complementing base.

Met gala 13

Coco's favorites

Woah Baby!
We loved this year’s Met Gala and its foray into gothic couture. How fun it was to see some of our favourite stars, normally seen in bright, popping attire, in demure blacks, crimsons and indigos. Viva these gothic beauties – here are a few of Coco’s favourites.  Who were yours?

Polka dots!

Happy Summer, Mongers!

What better way to start off the sunshine than with playful polka dots? Looks like we’re not the only ones with the idea – check out American Apparel’s version of Coco’s outfit. Twinsies!
Maxi dresses can be a hit or a miss. For our beautifully lean, tall friends they are an easy grab for summertime outfits that go from casual in the day to a little something extra for nighttime.
But for us with hips and a not-so-tall stature, maxi dresses can be daunting. Most are made from a cotton-polyester blend, which can cling to parts we just don’t want clung to. Other times we’re dragging our maxi on the ground like a train.
A few tips for Maxi skirt picking:
-          Look for a length that will just skim the ground when the skirt sits right on your waist (where your tummy creases when you bend to a side)
-          Look for 100% cotton or more cotton blend maxis for less clinging
-          Opt for a maxi skirt with a slit to add more movement and less clinging
And enjoy pairing your maxi skirt with bright tees and tanks, or a casual button-down-made-crop-top by tying the bottom into a knot!
